Urban Chic

It was a hot day, me and my buds were hanging out on the street corner, you know, just shooting the breeze and telling lies. It was a pretty cool time, some hot chicks strolled by every now and then helping give the optic nerve a workout, it was a good day!

What the f$%k you looking at?
In putting today's look I'm wrapped with the interaction between the Belleza skin and the [Identity] shape, it's produced one kick ass looking avatar, add to that the hair and....! It took me a while to find the right hair, well that was until I found Lotus - they sell awesome hair and there is no doubt I'll be back.

I've also been playing around with GIMP and seeing just what I can achieve with it... thank goodness for google!!

Today Steam is wearing:

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

In November 1974, Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott replaced Dave Evans as front man of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC, and so began the journey for both the band and the man until Bon's untimely death in the back seat of a friends car from alcohol poisoning in February of 1980. Bon may have passed, but his legend still lives on:

In 2003 Bon Scott's final studio album with AC/DC, 1979's Highway to Hell ranked 199 on Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

In 2004 the song "Highway to Hell" that Bon Scott cowrote with Malcolm and Angus Young ranked 254 on Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

In the July 2004 issue of UK magazine Classic Rock, Scott was rated as number one in a list of the "100 Greatest Frontmen," ahead of Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant.

On 6 May 2006, the town of Kirriemuir in Scotland held a service and unveiled a Caithness stone slab commemorating the singer.

In 2008,  the National Trust of Australia decreed his grave important enough to be included on the list of classified heritage places. It is reportedly the most visited grave in Australia

On 24 February 2008, a bronze statue of Bon Scott was unveiled in Perth, Western Australia. The statue which portrays Scott atop a Marshall amplifier was installed at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour in October 2008

For me, Bon will be best remembered for the AC/DC song - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

Crazy 88 - the One Who Got Away

No, Beatrix didn't get them all..... now blessed with a blade made by Master Craftsman 服部 半蔵 a.k.a. Hattori Hanzō, (it was once owned by Bud, a member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad), Steam now provides specialised protective services to a very select group of clientele. Trained in the deadly art of Kendo, he and his Hanzō blade are now a formidable weapon ever ready and poised for action.

Today Steam is wearing:
HO54 black hair - from Black Maria
Police sunglasses - 2010 Platinum hunt gift from Blitzed
sf design earings - from SF Designs
Katana - from Hanzo Blades
Black wool suit - form Blaze*
Laurent shoes - from SF Design
Poses - from yours truly (large inset picture) and Exposeur

The sword I've included today I found at Hanzo Blades - after watching a re-run recently of Kill Bill Volume One I was inspired to build my own Crazy 88 look and so I went searching for a sword that would fit the bill (pun very definitely intended). I found the "Three Buddhas" at Hanzo Blades - it is intricately detailed and although this one is not scripted as I don't have the time for RP, it was the basis that started today's look. It is really very impressive.

So until next time...

Pound for Pound

Heya Stylsters

Inspired by the athletes of the UFC, Steam found himself in the Octagon recently proving once and for all that he IS the best pound for pound mixed martial artist in SL - well in his dreams anyway!

Right at home in the ring at the Warrier Instinct region, this is a badass mofo fighter, ready and willing to take on allcomers - with an ametuer record of 9-0 as a middleweight with an even weighting of grappling and striking techniques, you better watch the hell out!!

June being a crazy month for hunts, a combination of finds from the Zombiepopcorn and Silk Road hunts led me down the path of styling a MMA fighter, especially the survival face tattoo layer from DAMNED which is one of the best bruised face tattoo's I've seen.

Today Steam is wearing:
Fusion hair - from Badazz
Eyes - Zombiepopcorn hunt gift from DAMNED
Knock claws piercing - from Leti's Tattoo and Piercing
Survival face - Zombiepopcorn hunt gift from DAMNED
Eclipse necklace - free gift from <LOAQ>
Inner Dragon Tattoo - Silk Road Hunt gift from Dragonlady's Closet
Flagellation - from Blood and Scars
Boxing trunks - from Aa Productions
Hand, feet and knee wraps - from WIN
Poses - by yours truly - not for sale

Menstuff Hunt Month

The Menstuff hunt is now well underway and yours truly has been very busy and has just finished all 151 listed locations and is now facing the daunting task of unpacking, reviewing, culling or putting away, damn what a dilemma!

I have managed to unpack a few items and I've decided to include them in the outfit I styled for this post, or rather, the outfit SZD styled that I added to. I have to say I'm really impressed with SZD and their attention to detail. For your purchase price you get an outift which may include shoes, piercings and other jewellry making them a great starting point when you are putting your own look together.

The outfit I chose for today didn't include shoes so I chose a fantastic pair of boots by Inedit - their Florida Aligator boots, really excellant styling, fit and detail. That I'm really happy with this purchase is an understatement.

This is the result:

Today Steam is wearing:
Ruby 03 blonde hair - from Black Maria
Black hair base tattoo layer - from CaTwA on the Marketplace
Homage sunglasses - Menstuff hunt gift from Philo
Revenge tattoo - Menstuff hunt gift from Wicked Tattoos
Determined outfit from SZD (including wrist bands and necklace)
Florida Aligator boots - from  iNEDIT
Poses - from SERENADE

June has gone mad with hunts - Depraved Summer Nights, Zombiepopcorn and Menstuff are the 3 I've been trying my hand at, there is some great gear to be had if you have the patience - so you know what you need to do:
Zombiepopcorn
Depraved Summer Nights
So until next time....

Couture 101 - Casual is Cool

Heya Stylsters

For a change of pace I went looking for something again a little more formal, understated but oozing class and this was what I found.....

The suit and shirt comes from [SE*Designz] and is called their "Casual Suit". Rather than try and dress it up I went and kept it casual with more of a summer feel by adding flip flops and sunglasses. This look really appealed to me and you can imagine yourself sucking down a few cold beers on a warm summers evening with your best lady on your arm dressed like this. The outfit also comes in separate layers for a shirt only or a jacket only option (not shown).

Consistent with my alternative bent in Second Life I added a face piercing and asian themed tattoo to top it off.

Today Steam is wearing:
Vagrasattva sunglasses -gift from elysion optic
Piercing - from Delirium Style at the DS II sim
Kyoto tattoo - from EBA
Casual suit - from SE Designz
Iron Cross ring - from Cobrahive
Magi take leather flip flops - from magi take
Poses - from Happy Dispatch

So until next time....

Where's my dirt bike

Heya Stylesters

Whilst I was doing the SSH hunt I found myself in Kumaki Glasses Style, a store I had never really spent alot of time in, whilst I was searching around (although the hint was pretty good) I came across a range of awesome goggles. Now being influenced by Steam and Cyberpunk I'm no newcomer to the typical SL fare when it comes to goggles, but these were something special and I just had to have a pair. Really I can't say enough about them, they are high detail, high qaulity and what's more, there are a bunch of styles to choose from at the mainstore.

So that purchase now done it seemed to me that I needed an outfit to suit. I immediately thought of an outfit I'd seen at Delirium Style and from there I built up my dirt bike outfit with clothing also from Someplace Else and Okey Designs - the end result I think is a great take on the off road motorcylce genre with a decided punk influence to boot.

Today Steam is wearing:
Mohawk H043 black - free from Black Maria
Cintura Goggles - from Kumaki Glasses Style
Gangbanger tears facial tattoo - by yours truly - not for sale
Jacket - from the Delirium Style "Newklear"outfit found at the DS II sim
Gloves - L$1 wonders from Hermony
Jeans - group gift from Someplace Else
Cross boots - group gift from Okey Designs
Poses - from Time Engineer on the Marketplace

So until next time....
